SOME bus services in Pembrokeshire will be running more frequently from Monday onwards (19th October), thanks to extra funding from the Welsh Government.

It follows the return of a number of Pembrokeshire’s community transport services – although at a reduced frequency and with reduced vehicle capacities.

Cllr Phil Baker, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, said he hoped the extra services would help local residents.

“I’m pleased to announce that from Monday 19th October the frequency of several bus services in Pembrokeshire will be increased to provide additional travel opportunities, particularly in rural areas,” he said.

“It’s also great to see a number of community transport services returning to assist vulnerable and socially isolated people within the County.

“I would remind everyone of the importance of complying with the current Welsh Government regulations in regard to using face coverings.”

The extra bus routes were identified by Pembrokeshire County Council’s transport officers working in liaison with local bus operators. The vast majority of the services will be operating regular fixed timetables until further notice.

The Welsh Government funding will continue until 31st March 2021.
