PINK Peppercorn Food Co have just become Welsh Street Food Awards Champions.
The company achieved success all within one year of being established.
Alex Cook from Pink Peppercorn co said: “We battled it out at the contest last weekend in Swansea, and got the top spot!
“We’ve made it to the top 15 in the UK from over 3000 applicants, and are heading down to London representing Wales aiming to win the overall British Street Food Awards Title and go on to Europe for the Final.
“Our our aim is to create restaurant standard food on the street, to bringing Artisan Comfort Food to the scene.“Our Menu’s are based around the availability of sustainable, seasonal and most importantly super tasty ingredients.“Modern Welsh Food based on Historic Recipes that have stood the test of time and tyranny.”The Competition Entry Dishes are:-Miso Risotto (V,VG)Shii-take Mushroom, Aubergine and Pea Pearl Barley,with Beetroot Borani, Tahini Cream and Arrowgrass Seeds.Cajun ChowderMSC Hake, Welsh Chorizo, Tenby Mussels and Sweetcornwith Marsh Samphire, Salsa Verde and SourdoughSpeaking about the way the company works Alex said: “We source as many of our ingredients as we can from small scale local organic farms and Artisan Welsh producers, promoting sustainable foraging, heritage breeds and biodiversity.“We connect directly with the people that grow, nurture and breed our food, this allows us to ensure the highest quality of produce and animal welfare possible.“Just one year on since we started this journey to give people Street Food that they can rely on, introducing people to new or forgotten flavours and ingredients.”
