RESPONDING to the news that frontline NHS staff at a hospital in Hywel Dda health baord have concerns they will miss out on the first round of the Covid vaccine due to an internal booking system, Plaid Cymru Leader and MS for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr Adam Price MS said,
“We have already seen a hospital closed and the patients moved to another hospital in part because of the failure of the Welsh Government to prioritise the testing of front-line NHS staff.
“If these reports are true they are very concerning. It would appear that poor communication on the part of the Health Board has prevented some front line staff from securing their slot to be vaccinated, risking putting themselves and patients in danger.
“We need an urgent statement from the Health Board and an immediate intervention from the Welsh Government to make it clear that front-line health and care staff, patients and residents must be first priority. Anything else risks endangering public health and undermining public trust at this critical time.”
