SOUTH WALES Police is investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at around 5.15pm on Thursday 17th December on the A48 near Laleston, Bridgend near its junction with Wells Street.
A 61 year-old male cyclist from St Brides Major was in collision with a blue Volvo S40 and died at the scene.
A 66 year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently held at Queen’s Road police station where he is being questioned.
Officers investigating the incident are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or the manner in which the Volvo was being driven prior to the collision, or for any passing motorists prior to the collision who may have dash-cam footage to contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting reference 2000456245.
