POLICE have been dealing with an incident at Stradey School today, Wednesday (Sep 25).
It is understood that a pupil has made comments on social media relating to a ‘mass shooting’ and posted a picture of someone holding a gun.
We contacted Carmarthenshire County Council and were told that the police and school were dealing with the incident. The boy is believed to be on holiday with his parents and not at the school at present.
In a statement Dyfed-Powys Police said:
“Dyfed-Powys Police became aware of malicious comments on social media, and concerns they raised amongst pupils and parents of Ysgol Gyfun y Strade, Llanelli, on the evening of September 22.
“The comments have been investigated and there is not deemed to be a risk to the school or members of the public. Officers are working with the school, and a youth is helping them with their enquiries.
“The school remains open as normal and the police Schools Liaison Officer is there today (Sept 26), as usual. The investigation is ongoing.
