DYFED-POWYS Police were called to Cefn Sidan shortly before 11.30am on Monday, 16 November, to reports of an explosive item found on the beach.
A safety cordon was put in place.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Due to tide times and limited daylight remaining, bomb disposal experts from the MoD were unable to deal with the item safely until this morning.
“They are currently on site and will safely dispose of it today.
“A 400 metre cordon remains in place and the public is advised to avoid the area.”
