Police search for ‘weapon’ and ‘clothing’ used in murder of Fahad Mohamed Nur

SOUTH WALES Police is continuing to investigate the murder of Fahad Mohamed Nur.

The 18-year-old died after being stabbed near Cathays Railway Station during the early hours of Sunday, June 2.

Three men have been charged with murder and one woman is charged with assisting an offender.

Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with Fahad’s death.

However, searches are continuing for the missing murder weapon and clothing worn by those responsible.

Senior Investigating Officers, Detective Chief Inspector Mark O’Shea said: “We believe that a knife or possibly two knives were used and are keen to hear from anyone who has information on where they might be.

“We are also appealing for any sightings of the suspects before or after the incident, and any vehicles they may have used.

“We are extremely grateful for information already received from the community and would urge anyone else with information to please contact us.”

It is believed Fahad was known to his attackers and detectives are keeping an open mind in relation to a motive.

His family, who live in Cardiff, continue to be supported by specially-trained family liaison officers.

“Fahad comes from a loving family who are devastated by what has happened, and their grief is shared by the wider Somali community who continue to be an invaluable support at this very difficult time,” added DCI O’Shea.

“A young man has tragically lost his life and we have a dedicated team of detectives working on this investigation.”
