THE first one-stop employment hub of its kind in Swansea is up and running in the Quadrant. The pop-up hub will be at the Quadrant until the autumn and is usually open 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday unless there are specific recruitment events.
Swansea Council’s employability service Swansea Working, together with its partners, has opened the pop-up hub in Unit 9 in the Quadrant Shopping Centre opposite HMV.
It provides a range of support to help people in Swansea access the employment market.
Services include; employer days, targeted employment events, training and much more.
Thanks to partners such as the Environment Centre, Barnardo’s Swansea, Whitehead Ross and Workways there is also advice and support on the cost of living crisis, welfare benefits and debt.
Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Wellbeing, Alyson Pugh, said:
“By locating this pop-up service in the Quadrant Shopping Centre it is as central and as easily accessible to all Swansea residents as possible.”
“Since it opened the team have been supporting around 50 people a week who are calling in as no appointment is necessary.
“Swansea Council and our partners are committed to doing all we can to help people back into work, secure better employment opportunities and training.
“We worked with the NHS for a very successful recruitment day and there are more of these events to come including one with a major security and hospitality company on the afternoon of Friday June 17th which is National Employability Day.
“The team are also working with Ninja Warrior, who are bringing their adventure experience to Parc Tawe, for recruitment days on June 18 and 22.”
