Port Talbot RNLI Lifeboat Tasked To Broken Down Vessel

PORT Talbot RNLI were tasked to a broken down vessel with two people on board on Wednesday (Oct 16).

The lifeboat was tasked to assist a fifteen foot vessel, with two people on board, which had broken down just inside the deep water harbour.

In a statement the RNLI said: “It was a tricky launch with a very rough incoming tide, six foot swells and a strong onshore wind .

“The lifeboat was soon on scene and the decision was made that due to sea conditions and for the occupants safety, it would be safer to transport them back to the River Afan in the lifeboat.

“This was done successfully and the lifeboat then returned to the harbour to take the casualty vessel in tow with one lifeboat crew member on board. Once back in the river the men were handed over to the local coastguard and the boat was recovered.”
