Rolo searches for a home after being in care for six months

COULD you be the person to take a special cat out of the lonely hearts club so he won’t be the last Rolo?

Rolo, a two-year-old tabby and white cat, is currently residing at RSPCA Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre and has been awaiting for his forever home since he came into RSPCA care 191 days ago.

Rolo BYM rehoming appeal Feb20Deputy Centre manager Rachel Gibbs said: “We would love our wonderful Rolo to get his second chance of happiness and meet his perfect match. We don’t know much about his background but he came into our care as a stray with an abscess.

“He didn’t find his love this St Valentine’s Day, but we hope this will soon change. Rolo will need a home without other pets and will suit anyone looking for an indoor-only cat.

“Rolo has already been in a home with one of our dedicated fosterers and has done really well there. After he first meets new people he soon relaxes and soaks up as much attention as he can have. He would benefit from a quieter home with plenty of indoor space to explore.

“Rolo is FIV positive – but this doesn’t stop his sweet nature from shining through. FIV cats can enjoy a happy life and make wonderful companions.

“It does mean though that Rolo must be the only cat in the household. FIV cats can potentially live long, healthy and full lives, just like a non-infected cat, and have all the usual needs such as a nutritious diet, mental stimulation and plenty of love!”

Rachel added that Rolo does have one main love – his FOOD!

“Our only issue is trying to get this Roly Poly to keep the weight off and get moving, so a dedicated owner needs to be strict with his diet,” she said. “All he ever seems to want to do is roll around the cattery, showing off his big tummy!

“Please give us a call if you are interested in meeting Rolo – we can’t wait to meet you!”

RSPCA Bryn-Y-Maen prioritises animals rescued from cruelty and neglect, so the animals in their care are looking for a second chance for a happy forever home.

Based in Upper Colwyn Bay, the Bryn-Y-Maen centre provides specialist care for domestic and farm animals, and staff also provide support to injured wildlife.

The centre can be contacted on 0300 123 0745, and all cats, and other companion animals, available for adoption can be found online. Members of the public thinking of rehoming a cat can find useful cat care tips and advice on the RSPCA’s website.
