SUPPORT has been provided to an Aberystwyth man who was made redundant to gain new skills and venture back into the world of work.

Arwyn Jones, 56 from Aberystwyth, had been in the same job for years and was made redundant. During the difficult period of the pandemic, he was unemployed and living off his savings.

With the support of Workways and other support organisation, he gained access to training to improve his IT skills and computer work and was put in contact with a Mentor who helped him fill in application forms, contact employers and gain interview tips.

He then secured a full time job working for Guardwatch in Aberaeron where he is part of a team of people managing the Covid testing drive through facility.
