Sir Deian attended Aberystwyth University and went on to lecture there as well as holding a number of other positions at the University.

In the first decade of the 21st century he was vice-chancellor and chief executive of London South Bank University and went on in 2011 to be President of the National Library of Wales.

From 2013-2020 Sir Deian served as chair of Wales Remembers 1914-18, being a special adviser to the First Minister of Wales.

The 30-minute podcast takes us through all this and much more including his music choices, which are heavily influenced by Jazz.
