SOUTH Wales Police is continuing to investigate a serious road traffic collision, which occurred at approximately 4.05am on Saturday, (Dec 5) on the A4050 Port Road East, Barry.
It is believed that a 16-year-old boy was a collision with a motor vehicle which then failed to stop leaving him injured in the carriageway near to Pencoedtre High School and the traffic light junction with Pencoedtre Road.
Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.
Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area, speaking to witnesses and recovering CCTV.
It is believed the vehicle involved travelled westbound along the A4050 after the collision.
Officers are appealing for the driver to come forward so that they can be spoken to, and be given the opportunity to provide their account.
Witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dash cam footage or any relevant information are also asked to contact police.
