South Wales Police launch large recruitment campaign for Police Officers

South Wales Police is currently undertaking one of its largest recruitment campaigns in years to recruit Police Officers to help keep the public safe, from Monday 4th July to Monday 25th July 2022.

There is an entry route to become a Police Officer that suits any level of education. The Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship is for those who do not have a degree. The Degree Holder Entry Route is for those who hold a degree in any subject. The Fast Track to Detective scheme is for those who have a degree in any subject who wish to become a detective.

As a Force, South Wales Police aims to be representative of the communities they serve and welcomes applications from anyone who is interested in policing. We particularly encourage applications from those who are from minority ethnic backgrounds and females.Chief Constable Jeremy Vaughan said: “Policing is a career like no other, where no two days are the same. You can help shape and save the lives of those around you.

“There has never been a better time to become a police officer. Apply today and help to make a positive difference to communities across South Wales.”For those interested in applying, South Wales Police is holding an open day at their headquarters in Bridgend on Sunday 17th July with the chance to take part in a mock fitness test.

If this is successfully passed, applicants won’t need to repeat the test if they apply to join us. If applicants fail, this won’t count towards their fitness test during the recruitment process.

The day will also have a vintage car display, police dog demonstrations, kids uniform dress up and tours of our Heritage Centre and new Police Learning Centre.

Further information about the Police Officer role and links to apply online are available here www.south-wales.police.uk/careers.
