Suspended prison sentence for driver who hit two cars whilst drunk and on medication

A 38 year-old Cross Hands woman appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (Apr 18) facing four charges for motoring offences.

The court heard that on 30/3/19 at Llanelli Ms Nicole Diana Williams of 15 Tirwaun, Cross Hands was suspected of having driven a vehicle and was required to provide a specimen of breath for analysis by means of a device approved by the Secretary of State.

 The court heard that on 30/3/19 at Cross Hands Williams having driven a vehicle on the A476 and been involved in a accident whereby damage was caused to a vehicle and having failed to stop.

 On 30/3/19 at Cross Hands being the driver of a vehicle on the A476 Williams was involved in a accident whereby damage was caused to a property on Bethania Road and she failed to stop.

Finally the court heard that on 30/3/19 at Cross Hands being the driver of a vehicle on A476 and being involved in a accident whereby damage was caused to another vehicle where Williams again failed to stop.

Williams pleaded guilty to the four offences.

The court heard that Williams had hit two cars and driven a distance of three miles with the vehicle in a very dangerous condition and by her own admission having been drunk and taken tablets.

Williams was committed to prison for twenty eight days, suspended for eighteen months. She was ordered to carry out unpaid work for one hundred and fifty hours within the next twelve months.

Williams was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and £900 in compensation. She was disqualified from holding and obtaining a driving licence for twenty four months.
