Swansea Aquatics swimmers perform well in Arena League second round

THE City of Swansea Aquatics swimmers took on Milfield School, Exeter, Newport, Southwell, and Swindon Dolphins in the second round of the premier division.

Sam Jones of Assitant Head Coach of Swansea Aquatics took its strongest team to Hutton Moor (Oct 9). Last Year Swansea aquatics team finished just outside in the grand final based on points.

Jones said “We traveled as a team to the west coast in Western-Super-Mare hoping to pick up valuable points off our competitors, even with a few key swimmers absent in this round due to illness or other commitments. We were here to challenge and have full confidence in our swimmers and coaches”

The team put in a fine performance finishing second round-up against a strong Plymouth Leander.

Results: Milfield 253 pts, Swansea Aquatics 230, Exeter 160, Newport County 151, Southwell S.C. 149 and Swinton Dolphins 102 points.

Jones said ” The team swam excellently and showed skill and determination to finish less than 25 points behind a very strong Milfield team.

“The coaching team are very pleased with the second round results especially to travel down in tough conditions and circumstances .”

Swansea Aquatics swimmers move on to round 3 which will be in Newport in December to hopefully demonstrate further momentum and make it to the finals.
