Swansea’s Riley Mason Morgan shines at World Kickboxing Championship

RILEY Mason Morgan from Gorseinon, Swansea has won a silver and bronze medal representing Wales at the WMAC World Championship in Bregenz, Austria.

Wales News Online covered the news of Riley’s selection to represent Wales at the World Championship and his efforts to secure sponsorship to attend the event.

Thankfully, due to the kind donations Riley received, the determined ten-year-old was able to travel out to Austria and compete.

Riley, who trains in Loughor with the Sharks Kickboxing Club was delighted when his time-consuming training paid off in his two kickboxing fights and he won a silver and bronze medal.

Riley’s mum Kate said: “I would like to say thank you for the sponsorship money sent to Riley’s Go Fund Me Page and, also, the cash donations which he kindly received.

“It meant so much to Riley and our family. It give him the chance to help follow his dreams.

“He has made me, his family and friends and all those who sponsored him so very proud.

“However, he couldn’t have got there, wouldn’t have had the chance, if it wasn’t for the generosity of everyone.”

Riley said: “I am so happy that I got to go to Austria. It was amazing!

“I loved my competition and the fightsI competed in.

“I am so pleased with the medals I won and want to win plenty more in the future.

“Thank you to everyone who helped me to go and compete. It was so kind.”

The energetic, committed Riley has not stopped since his return. He had a club fight for the Sharks on Sunday, (Dec, 1). Once again he was successful. Riley won a gold in kickboxing, gold in continuous and a silver in points.

Riley will be fighting in Amsterdam in 2020 and hopes to continue his success.
