The Welsh people honoured in Queen’s Birthday Honours List

THE Queen has offered special recognition to coronavirus heroes in her Birthday Honours list.

From Cardiff to Ceredigion, North to South and East to West Wales, household names to NHS key workers, Welsh rugby players and Welsh business people the monarch has shone a spotlight on Britons’ good deeds during the pandemic.

Of those who have been honoured, 72 per cent have worked tirelessly for their local communities, reflecting the huge voluntary effort across the country in response to Covid-19.

With 1,495 people honoured in total, this year’s list is particularly extensive.
