A 34-year-old woman from Caerphilly has had to pay £811 for having travelled to the seaside at Angle during the emergency period after appearing before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that on 02.06.2020 Miss Anne Marie Simmons of Graig Views Caerphilly was at Angle on the access road to the beach without reasonable excuse, during the emergency period, other than as permitted by the Regulations, left or remained away from the area local to the place where she was living, namely Machen, Caerphilly, in that she had travelled to the area to go to the seaside. Contrary to regulations 8(1)(a) and 12(1)(b) & (4) of the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020.
The case was proven under a Single Justice Procedure. Simmons was fined £660 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £66 and costs of £85.
