OFFICERS investigating an assault in Ely, in which a man was stabbed, have today arrested a third person.
A 25-year-old woman from the area was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and attempting to pervert the course of justice, following the incident in Plymouth Wood Close at around 12.30am on Tuesday, August 25.
She is currently in police custody.
A 52-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man who were arrested at the scene of the incident, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, have now been bailed pending further enquiries.
The victim, a 36-year-old man, remains in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales.
Detectives at the incident room which has been set up at Cardiff Central Police Station, are continuing to appeal to anyone with any information which may assist the investigation to come forward.
