Women – Your business idea – MAKE. IT. HAPPEN

THE first in a new series of online events to help women take their business idea and MAKE IT HAPPEN will begin next week.

Run by Chwarae Teg, the session will take place on 3 June and promises to be an inspiring introduction to female entrepreneurship. It will feature activities to help women generate and develop ideas and give them a change to get answers to any burning questions.

Hannah Saunders, founder and MD of Toddle – Born Wild will be guest speaker at the event. Having set up her business, which creates natural skincare products for children, only a few years ago she is already incredibly successful – winning Womenspire’s Entrepreneur Award in 2019.

The online events are part of the wider Future Female Founders project, a collaboration between Chwarae Teg, NatWest and Simply Do Ideas.

Simply Do Ideas, have already set up an online platform for women to capture, explore and develop their ideas, which can be accessed at: sdi.click/founders

Further online sessions will take place as follows:

10th June – Introduction to the Future Female Founders online support platform

24th June – Networking

8th July – Branding, telling your story & pitching

22nd July – Business basics, accounts & finance

Cerys Furlong, Chief Executive, Chwarae Teg, said:

“I hope these virtual workshops will motivate women take their business idea from a dream or concept and transform it into something actionable that they could set in motion. They will be led by expert women, for women, with the aim of giving them the confidence and the skills that they need to tackle the barriers that many women face when looking to start a business.”

Hannah Saunders, MD of Toddle – Born Wild said:

“I’m delighted to be speaking at the event and having the chance to get involved, I’m really looking forward to it. As a relatively new entrepreneur, hopefully I will understand where other women are coming from and be able to offer some advice and share with them how I made my business a success. I hope any woman, who has even just thought about starting her own business, joins us to find out more.”

Cheryl Gourlay, National Women In Business Manager, NatWest, said:

“We’re really excited about the positive impact working with Chwarae Teg and organisations like Simply Do Ideas will have in helping empower more women to start their own business. The talent is there, but knowledge is empowering, which is why the online events calendar that has been developed is a real opportunity for women through all parts of Wales to empower themselves and learn from those who have achieved success.”
