POLICE in Newtown are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault that occurred on Friday 2nd August 2019 between 8.30pm and 8.45pm along the footpath which adjoins the carpark off Short Bridge Street to the top River path (opposite the Public toilets).
A fifty four year old man, who was in the company of two females and a dog, received injuries which required hospital treatment.
Three males, two aged 17 and one aged 16, were arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
