SOUTH Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews have attended a number of domestic fires in recent weeks and as a result, would like to emphasise to the public the importance of following safety advice relating to open fires.
Please remember to:
• Be careful when using open fires and log burners. Make sure you always use a fire guard to protect against flying sparks from hot embers.
• Make sure embers are under control and properly put out before you go to bed.
• Keep chimneys and flues clean and well maintained.
• Don’t store logs or fuel next to open fires and log burners.
