Two men jailed for supplying class A drugs in Llanelli

TWO men have been jailed for a total of ten years for supplying class A drugs in Llanelli (on Friday, 20 September 2019).

At the end of a six day trial at Swansea Crown Court, Andrew Brian Taylor, aged 43, of Station Road, Llanelli, was jailed for five-and-a-half-years, while Junior Ralph Forbes-Williams, aged 20, of Church Road, Nechells, Birmingham, received four-and-a-half years for his part in the operation.

The pair were arrested during a raid at Taylor’s flat in January, after police officers from Dyfed-Powys Police received information about drug dealing happening there. It quickly became clear the drugs were linked to a Birmingham county line, and along with around £600 in cash, officers found heroin, diamorphine, cocaine and cannabis worth around £1,000.

Taylor and Forbes-Williams were charged with dealing class A drugs within 12 hours of their arrest on January 21 2019, and were remanded into custody at Swansea Crown Court the following day.

Detective Inspector Wayne Bevan said: “These men are well known to police, so Forbes-Williams was only in Llanelli a matter of days when officers became aware of him.

“The speed with which they were arrested and charged sends out a clear message –  Dyfed-Powys Police takes the supply of drugs in our communities seriously, and we will endeavour to do everything we can to bring those who supply drugs, be it County Lines or otherwise, to justice as quickly as possible.

“We continue to work tirelessly to reduce drug misuse within our communities, to make it a less lucrative market for drug suppliers to operate in, and in doing so, make Carmarthenshire a safer place to live.
