20-year-old arrested on suspicion of offences under Explosive Substances Act and Misuse of Drugs Act

A man arrested under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act has been released and rearrested for further offences.

In a  statement issued today, Monday (Apr 20) police said:

“The 20 year-old man from Cyncoed in Cardiff who was arrested yesterday under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 has been released with no further action in relation to those offences.

“Whilst in police custody he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosive Substances Act and the Misuse of Drugs Act.

“He has been released on police bail pending further investigation into those matters.

“Every year thousands of reports from the public help police tackle the terrorist threat.
