HC-One’s Llys Newydd care home in Capel Hendre, Carmarthenshire is celebrating having received a glowing report from Care Inspectorate Wales.
The team at Llys Newydd was delighted to receive an impressive report that rated the home as ‘Compliant’, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for residents.
The inspectors were full of praise for staff at Llys Newydd, highlighting the kind ways in which they provide care for people living at the home. This sentiment was echoed by Residents, who made remarks such as: “I like it, I have everything I need” and “I really like some of the girls, they just know me.”
The report reflected the variety of stimulating activities available to residents at Llys Newydd, including poetry competitions, arts and crafts and afternoon teas.
Llys Newydd was also praised for its efforts to personalised activities to residents’ individual needs. One Resident’s personal plan stated that they particularly enjoyed being with animals, so Colleagues at the home arranged a visit from a birds of prey centre and held animal therapy sessions with the home’s pet rabbit and dog.
Catrin Hooper, Home Manager at Llys Newydd, said: “We are delighted with Llys Newydd’s fantastic Care Inspectorate report, which reflects the hard work and kind care that each and every member of our team puts in, day in day out to keep a smile on our Residents’ faces.”
Ruth Yates, Managing Director at HC-One, said: “Llys Newydd’s Care Inspectorate rating is fantastic news. I would like to thank the whole team for their commitment and hard work and congratulate them on such an impressive report.
