RESPONDING to the news that up to three households can meet indoors during a five-day Christmas period of 23-27 December after an agreement between leaders of the four UK nations, Plaid Cymru Leader Adam Price MS said,
“A compassionate but responsible approach to a limited relaxation of restrictions over the holiday period is sensible. However, it’s crucial we don’t lose the hard-gotten gains of the last few months for the sake of a few days. Flexibility shouldn’t mean a free for all.
“Sadly, this will not be Christmas as normal and people must know that any relaxation also comes with risks. Government has a responsibility to ensure clear communication over the festive period, encouraging people to follow the guidelines, and we all have a responsibility to keep our friends and family safe.
“The promise of a vaccine gives us all a glimmer of hope that we are almost out of the dark. That is why it is crucial that the Welsh Government publish their comprehensive vaccine rollout plan for Wales alongside a mass testing programme which can instantly be rolled out in areas of high transmission.
