PEOPLE in Ceredigion can now submit their views to scrutiny committees through Facebook.
Cllr Elizabeth Evans, chairman of Ceredigion County Council’s overview and scrutiny coordinating committee highlighted the move and the importance of scrutiny at a recent meeting.
The role of overview and scrutiny is to oversee the work of the council and ensure services are delivered in the best way and for the benefit of the local community.
Residents will be able to air their views following the publication of the committee agenda on Facebook three days before a meeting.
Agendas are published on the council’s website a week in advance and contact can also be made via email at scrutiny@ceredigion.gov.uk.
Cllr Evans added: “People can already submit their views by emailing our Scrutiny Team. However, we would like to get more people involved in sharing their views and be part of the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny process.”
The council has a Welsh Facebook page – @CSCeredigion – and an English page – @CeredigionCC.
Written requests can also be made, no later than midday two working days before a meeting, to Overview and Scrutiny, Democratic Services, Ceredigion County County Council, Penmorfa, Aberaeron, SA46 0PA.
