Family pay tribute to 28-year-old man who died after allegedly falling from moving vehicle

SOUTH Wales Police is continuing to investigate the circumstances of an incident in Grangetown, Cardiff where it is believed that a man fell from a moving vehicle.

James Davies was seriously injured during the incident involving a green Skoda Citigo car on Avondale Road at around 8.30 pm on Tuesday, (June 23) and died in hospital the following day.

Police officers are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the police via 101, quoting occurrence 2000222030.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

They would particularly like to speak to two individuals who were seen on CCTV walking along the pavement opposite Avondale Stores, heading in the direction of the River Taff, at the time of the incident. The two, who aren’t believed to have been walking together, could hold vital information which could assist the investigation.

Paying tribute to the 28-year-old, his family said: “James was a much-loved son and brother, he was loved unconditionally by all.

“James, a talented singer, motorbike enthusiast, and a keen fisherman, had a heart of gold.

“James loved life and taking holidays with his family but more than anything he loved his mum and his daughter, they were his whole world.  There was never a time when he spoke about his family that he didn’t smile ear to ear, he had so much passion and love for every single one of us.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by his loss, he was such a key member of our family, he was our miracle baby.

“James has physically left us but we take comfort that he’s now with the angels, his dad, and nanny and that his heart is still beating on having been able to help others through the gift of organ donation.”
