DONATIONS to Llanelli food bank by pupils and staff at Coleshill Center, BT staff, Cochyn and Scarlets Staff may mean that nobody in the area goes hungry this Christmas.
Cllr Rob Evans contacted Wales News Online to share the heart warming story of how the community joined together to gather an extraordinary amount of food donations destined for food banks across Llanelli this Christmas.
Cllr Evans said: “Llanelli pupils of secondary schools stepped up this Christmas in donating food to the Llanelli food bank. Bryngwyn, Ysgol y Strade, Coedcae and Glan y Mor were supported by Scarlets staff including James Bibby and the Scarlets community.
“BT staff contributed and Owens transport supplied the lorry.
“Coleshill Centre also contributed towards the food bank. The Llanelli food bank van made its rounds together with Kev Davies Cawdor Cars Director.
“The night before, Jessica Prime and her friends and family collected 244 items for the food bank.
“The Scarlets players met up after the collections throwing their weight behind the campaign.
“It was a truly a emotional day and truly amazing what the school pupils achieved this Christmas in supporting people in need.
“I would like to add my personal thanks to all involved. Llongyfarchiadau pawb a Nadolig Llawen.”
