SOUTH Wales Police and the Health and Safety Executive have been jointly investigating the circumstances surrounding the collapse of the former Citadel Church in Splott, Cardiff.
Jeffrey Joseph Plevey, 55, from Radyr, died following the building’s collapse on July 18, 2017.
A file of evidence was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service which last month resulted in five men and five companies receiving postal requisitions to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on October 21.
The following further charges have now also been authorised:
Richard Lyons, 65, from Bristol, and Optima Scaffolding Designs LLP, have received postal requisitions to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on October 21 in relation to offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Mr Plevey’s family have been updated and continue to be supported by a Family Liaison Officer.
