NIA Griffith MP, Member of Parliament for Llanelli and Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, said:
“It is a huge honour to be asked by our new leader, Keir Starmer, to serve in his Shadow Cabinet as the Shadow Secretary of State for Wales.
“At this difficult time, my priority is supporting my colleagues in Welsh Government as they respond to the enormous challenge of the coronavirus pandemic.
“It is vital that we all follow the government’s guidance, stay home and support the efforts of our Welsh NHS and other key workers, many of whom are putting themselves at risk to care for others and save lives.”
“It has been a privilege to be Shadow Defence Secretary and to spend so much time seeing the amazing work of our Armed Forces first-hand. They serve our country with enormous skill and professionalism, as they are doing right now responding to the virus.”
