Llansteffan Beach playground is soon to be transformed into a state of the art play area.
The current space is in the process of being converted into a pirate themed zone serving the community and its visitors.
Children will have hours of fun with a choice of activity equipment to use including a frigate, multi toddler unit, a spinner bowl, swing portal, dolphin springer and a supernova.
Work is due to be completed by the end of this month.
The council’s executive board member responsible for leisure services, Cllr Peter Hughes-Griffiths said: “This is an exciting project which will benefit the local community and it’s visitors. Playing has a positive impact on our children’s health and well-being, unfortunately there hasn’t been a lot of that this past year with the restriction of the coronavirus, so this is something to really look forward to.”
The project is jointly funded Carmarthenshire County Council and Welsh Government.
Councillor Carys Jones said: “I’m delighted with this new facility and the opportunity it offers for fun and creative play. Llansteffan looks forward to welcoming children and families to the wonderful new play area.”
