THE Chair of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board will confirm today (August 19) the appointment of Jo Whitehead as its new Chief Executive.< She will join Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board on the 1 January from her current role as Chief Executive of Mackay Hospital and Health Service in Queensland, Australia.
Responding to the appointment of Jo Whitehead, Plaid Cymru Shadow Health Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth MS said,
“The Labour Government can’t even send its own senior official up and settle things down.
“The latest in the long line of newly appointed Chief Executives for Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board will be joining a ship that’s already been torpedoed by Labour Government inaction.
“I’m speaking with more and more staff and patients who believe we’d be better off with a clean sheet. A new model for delivering health and care in the north of Wales. And I agree.”
