Police continue search for ‘missing’ Susan Smith near Kidwelly

DYFED-Powys Police are appealing to residents in the Kidwelly area to  search outbuildings and check security cameras, in their search for Susan Smith.

Police are continuing to search for Susan Smith who has been reported missing.

Susan was last seen at 1.30pm, Saturday 27th February 2021, walking in the Carmarthen Bay Holiday Village, Kidwelly area. She is known to walk along the beach to St Ishmaels and Ferryside.

She is described as approximately 5ft 2inches tall, petite with shoulder length blonde hair and believed to be wearing black jeans, a black fleece type jacket and navy and grey walking boots.

Sergeant Jess Jones said: “The search is continuing today with the support of  Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Services who are searching the estuary. The community will also see specialist police officers making house to house enquiries.

“We are asking the residents of Kidwelly, St Ishmaels, Ferryside and the surrounding areas to check any outbuildings or sheds in case she has sought shelter. We are also asking the public to check and review their private CCTV cameras,  ring video doorbells, GoPro’s, Dash cam footage or any other source of video imagery that may capture Susan in and around the areas noted above during the period 1.30pm and 10pm on Saturday 27th February.”

Anyone who has seen Susan, or anyone who may have information that could help the search, is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police, quoting reference 285 of Saturday 27th February.
