THE Sospan Sizzler started off a little chilly today, Sunday (Jul 21) but it wasn’t long before the sun showed its head and began to beat down on the competitors fresh out of the ice cold water at Burry Port.
Having completed the 1.9km swim the athletes began an arduous 90km bike ride taking in the killer hill at Meinciau not once but twice. The route would have been well know to most of the competitors but familiarity certainly would not have bred contempt for one of the toughest climbs in the area.
The sun may have got to some including this chap who wheelied up the hill in the style of Peter Sagan.
By the time the athletes got back to the changing area they had little time for respite as they began the final 20km run.
