AT 6.40pm on Friday the 23rd of April, 2020 volunteer Crew-members from Criccieth’s RNLI Lifeboat Station were tasked to go and assist a broken-down jet-ski near Black Rock Sands.

The two persons aboard the jet-ski had raised the alarm after they had been unable to restart the craft’s stalled engine following a capsize. Thankfully the occupants, both of whom were from the North Wales area, were able to raise the alarm using a mobile phone and were equipped with wetsuits and lifejackets.
Once on-scene, the Station’s Atlantic-class Lifeboat, Doris Joan, was able to affix a towline to the jet-ski and transfer the craft and its occupants – who had been boarded onto the Lifeboat – safely back to Black Rock Sands.
