AT approximately 4:45 pm on Thursday (May 16th) Emergency services attended the southbound carriageway of the A4232 between Culverhouse Cross and Leckwith Cardiff.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision and sadly an occupant of one of the vehicles died at the scene. The next of kin have been informed and are currently being supported by specially trained officers.
One male has been arrested and is currently being held at Cardiff Bay Police Station.
The road was closed for approximately 6 hours whilst the police carried out the initial investigation, and recovery of the vehicles involved.
Police are appealing for any witnesses, who have not yet provided their details to the police, or any motorist with dash-cam footage to contact South-Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence number 1900175776.
Police would also like to thank members of the public who stopped and assisted at the scene, and motorists who were affected by associated congestion for their patience and understanding.
