SOUTH Wales Police can confirm that a 48-year-old woman who was the victim of a serious assault in Mayhill on December 1 has sadly died in hospital.
Helen Bannister was a loved mother of two children who will be dearly missed by her heart broken family.
A murder investigation has now commenced and her family continue to be supported by specialist officers. They have asked for privacy at this sad time.
A 37-year-old man has previously been remanded by the court after being charged with GBH with intent.
