Survey to help shape future Bridgend Council business support

BUSINESSES in Bridgend County Borough are being asked to take part in a survey to help assess the impact of Covid-19 and the UK leaving the EU on the local economy.

The newly-established Bridgend County Economic Taskforce wants to understand the main issues companies are facing in the current situation, their future aspirations and what support they would like going forward.

To take part in the survey, visit the council’s Business Engagement Survey webpage.

The findings of the survey will be used to develop an economic plan to help businesses adapt to the changing economic landscape.

It will include things like support during the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, improving resilience and delivering new opportunities for training skills and employment as well as a new business.

Cllr. Charles Smith, Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration said:

”The council, along with other organisations, has offered an unprecedented amount of support to the local business community during the Covid-19 pandemic. This includes making 6,500 payments to businesses in Bridgend County Borough totalling more than £42.4m.

New funding through the Bridgend County Economic Taskforce is available to businesses and supports start-ups and adaptations to business properties, which help support the economy both during the coronavirus pandemic and beyond. Covid-19 business support webpage.

There has been a significant increase in the number of businesses engaging with the council for additional advice and support and this survey will help to inform how we can best do this in the future. I would urge all local businesses to take part and have their say.”
